The I Am Black History Conference takes students on a journey exploring how the African American experience and culture through seminars: Civil Rights, Music, Dance, TV & Film, and Historical Figures has shaped the world we live in. Students will engage, interact, and participate in conversation with experts dedicated to chronicling Black Excellence.

All our sessions are designed to educate, inspire, challenge, and encourage communicative thought in students.

The day will also include the HBCU Summit, where students will have the opportunity to meet HBCU Representatives to learn about Historically Black Colleges & Universities.

This Professional Development Workshop is tailored to school counselors, teachers, advisors etc. who wish to learn more about the importance and impact of Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs),
and gain skills and information on how to guide their students to these institutions of higher education. 

Participants will leave with tools for creating an environment that fosters and promotes HBCUs as viable institutions of higher learning for students and parents of color, as well as tips and tricks to connecting students to HBCUs best suited for their success.

Participants will also receive via mail the “You Belong at a Black College” Book and a digital resource packet.
